Rolling on the River Volunteers Needed
(Aurora, Ill.) - Rush Copley’s Rolling on the River, a charity cycling event to raise funds to protect and improve Illinois’ environment, is currently seeking volunteers. This exciting new event, taking place over Labor Day weekend (September 1-3), will be headquartered at the 406-acre Hoover Outdoor Education Center in Yorkville. Rides for all skill levels will be along the scenic Fox River valley roads (10, 25, 45, 62 and 100 mi rides).
Volunteers are needed to assist with set-up, cyclist support, parking, rest stops, the post-ride party, the environmental expo and cheering on the cyclists. An informational meeting for those interested in volunteering, cycling or becoming a sponsor will be held on Tuesday, June 27 at 7 p.m. at the Historic Courthouse, 110 W Madison Street in Yorkville.
Sneak peaks of cycling routes, along with details of the canoeing, kayaking, camping and other Rolling on the River activities will be available. A drawing for two free registrations ($100 value) will be held for those attending the meeting.
Volunteers can receive up to two nights of free camping onsite, an event staff t-shirt, a participant packet full of great gifts and information and free admittance to the post-ride party. Limited camp sites are available and will be given to volunteers on a first come, first served basis.
